As an Independent Practitioner, Dr Sheharyar Ashraf is responsible for all of his own medical and healthcare services at Riverway Medical Centre.

Dr Sheharyar Ashraf graduated from Pakistan in 2009 and worked as a general practitioner there for four years before moving to North Queensland. He joined Riverway Medical Centre in 2014 and has been proud to care for the local community ever since. Having practised at the same clinic for over a decade, he values building long-term relationships with patients and supporting individuals and families through every stage of life.

Dr Ashraf enjoys all aspects of general practice, with particular interests in mental health, men's health, preventive medicine, skin cancer medicine, chronic disease management and caring for older adults. He also provides regular home visits and visits to residential aged care facilities for patients who are unable to attend the clinic.

Outside of medicine, Dr Ashraf enjoys travelling throughout Australia and overseas, playing tennis, following a wide range of sports, and spending quality time with his wife and young son. He believes that listening carefully and understanding each patient's individual circumstances are just as important as providing high-quality medical care.

Dr Ashraf is fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi.
