Dr Rakesh Kaushal is an experienced General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred healthcare for individuals and families. With decades of medical experience, he delivers evidence-based care focused on preventative health, chronic disease management and supporting patients to achieve their long-term health goals through continuity of care.

After graduating from the prestigious AIIMS College in New Delhi, India, in 1982, Dr Kaushal worked as a medical doctor for the Indian Sports Team during the Asian Games and Olympic Games. He later relocated to Australia, practising in Tully for five years before moving to Townsville, where he has cared for the local community for more than 15 years. As a dedicated Family GP, his clinical interests include general medicine, sports medicine, mental health, travel medicine, employment medicals, health assessments, minor skin procedures, skin checks, dermatology, aged care and the management of chronic illness.

Dr Kaushal values building strong relationships with his patients and takes a practical, personalised approach to healthcare, helping people maintain their wellbeing at every stage of life. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi, enabling him to provide care to patients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
